House in the mountains, Chamonix,
France, 2024-2026

A new house built in the Chamonix valley at the foot of Mont Blanc with a set of expansive spaces opening onto a generous terrace, and more intimate and secluded rooms offering a range of leisure settings.Referencing the farmhouse tradition of the region, the building rests on a pigmented concrete plinth and the envelope is robustly detailed and drenched in pine tar. A subterranean spa is carved out of the ground and linked to a vaulted pool with glittering glazed tiles. This is a building built to last, as the bronze roof and timber facade age and merge into the surrounding landscape.
