Holiday house, Cadaqués,
Spain, 2008-2012

Partially rebuilt on two plots in the historic centre of a coastal town in Catalonia, the house is designed to accommodate two families who share its ownership and use it at different times throughout the year. Detailed in a pragmatic and conceptually rigorous way, the house is intended as an act of repair to the old town.

Mediating with the existing urban fabric and reinforcing the unity of the narrow street frontage, the project engages with the ideas of critical regionalism explored by Coderch, Correia and Milá in their own projects in Cadaqués in the 1950s and 1960s. The house was delivered In collaboration with Liebman Villavecchia Arquitectos.
