Tom Avermaete reflections on KANAL in Archithese 4.2024

In recent years, Belgium’s contemporary architecture scene has received increasing international attention. This success is the result of a special mix of circumstances , including political initiatives and organizational structures which are distributed and developed differently in the various regions of Flanders, Wallonia and the capital Brussels. Among the case studies explored is KANAL, in Tom Avermaete's essay 'Reassembling the urban'.

Launched in Basel in collaboration with S AM as part of their current exhibition, 'Soft Power. City Making Brussels Style', issue 4.2024 of Archithese includes an essay on KANAL by Tom Avermaete, 'Reassembling the Urban'.
