The Blankenberge city library is one of the case studies in "Yellowed. On reused architecture"

Edited by Martin Boesch, Laura Lupini and João Machado and published by the Mendrisio Academy Press, Yellowred aims to illustrate how buildings can be re-used by offering a collection of architectural projects that build on preexisting structures by converting, reorganising, extending, downsizing or refurbishing them.

Nine projects - among them the Blankenberge city library - show the hidden potential of existing buildings, the strategies and ideas that can be applied to re-use projects and the advantages of extending the lifespan of existing structures.

The title of the book alludes to the widespread convention of indicating existing structures in black, with yellow and red denoting what is to be demolished or reconstructed.
