SBa shortlisted for St. Catharine’s College, Cambridge competition

We are delighted to have been selected for the second stage of the competition to redevelop and reconfigure the social spaces of St Catharine’s College.
One of the oldest members of the University of Cambridge, the college occupies a prominent position on Trumpington Street and has a unique three-sided court that dates back to the 17th century, designed by Robert Grumbold, an associate of Sir Christopher Wren.
The brief invites competitors to devise solutions that reconfigure and improve legibility of the college's core social spaces, currently constrained by a tight site that has absorbed a succession of architectural approaches as the College has grown and flourished over the past 300 years.
The winning scheme will be announced in early summer 2019.
